Attending this Conference has been the most significant milestone in my career to date. I had the opportunity to connect with numerous outstanding individuals dedicated to utilizing academics and research to address and support community-identified partnerships or projects. Here is a look at the Epic-N Model Website.
I attended monthly meetings with the network to discuss ways to enhance our practice. One of the research centers I oversee and support, which follows this approach, is the Upper Mississippi Center for Sustainable Communities.
As we continue to collaborate and strategize within the network, I am confident that our efforts will not only enhance our practices but also serve as a model for other organizations looking to make a positive impact on their communities. The work being done at the Upper Mississippi Center for Sustainable Communities and Epic-N Members all over the world that are testament to the power of collective action and the importance of prioritizing sustainability in all aspects of our work.
I had the privilege of co-presenting with Abby Becker from UniverCity Alliance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Lindsey Hayward from the Sustainable City Year Program at the University of Oregon, and Terri Kaiser from the Rural Engagement and Vitality Center in Rural Oregon. Together, we delivered a presentation and led a discussion entitled "EPIC-N Programs: How We Tell Our Stories?" at the annual conference. The event was hosted by Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL, with global sessions conducted virtually later in the evening to accommodate various time zones.
